Thanks for visiting my homepage!
I am a linguistic and cultural anthropologist who has worked on linguistic and ritual practices among the Petalangan, one of the indigenous Malay ethnic groups in Riau Province, Indonesia.
For Spring 2007, I am teaching a cource entitled "Exploring Memory and Tradition in Philadelphia Communities" at Folklore Department, University of Pennsylvania. As a community service learning course, this course engages college students to help Philadelphia's Indonesian immigrant community, while exploring the immigrant's needs and resources for their cultural and linguistic maintenance. I am currently working with Indonesian teens as part of my field research among Indonesian immigrants in South Philadelphia.
